Overview: Design & Refurbishment

Zeno Construction was appointed as the principal contractor for the design and build of a refurbishment project at a school in Ipswich.

The refurbishment consisted of two phases. Phase one, covering 100m2, involved converting an existing community room to include a new kitchenette, double and single fire doors, new flooring, skirting, and decoration.

Phase two, encompassing 310m2, included the demolition of structural walls and a soft strip out, followed by the installation of new ceilings, fire doors, flooring, skirting, and decoration. The mechanical and electrical (M&E) works involved the installation of new lighting, data and power systems, heating and cooling, and plumbing.

The main challenge of the project was the tight turnaround. All work needed to be completed before an already busy summer period within a condensed schedule. Despite these constraints, Zeno Construction successfully completed and delivered the project on time.
